Feed the Hungry
For many people in Durham and beyond, hard times are something they face every day.
What does this mean for us at Grace?  We have more and more people stopping by the church to ask for help.  We want to respond in a way that helps to meet their needs in a responsible manner.  That is why we have designated Thursday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 p.m. as a time we are available to help those in our community.  Some days no one comes; others, 10-15 ask for help.
We give a bag of nonperishable food enough for a meal or two and sometimes bus passes or $10 gift cards for food.  That is why we have had ongoing requests for food donations--things like canned meats, soups, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, pastas.  The money for the bus passes and gift cards is being given from part of the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.  If you would like to help our brothers and sisters in need, donations of food or funds are very welcome.  The need continues to grow.

Grace Lutheran Church has many ministries: Ministry of Worship, Ministry of Mutual Care, Health Ministry,  Lutheran Women's Missionary League.  Additional pages featuring various ministries will continue be added to our website.

Stephen Ministry
What is a Stephen Minister?  Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation who listen, care, encourage and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times.  All support is confidential, free and very helpful.

Are you a previously trained Stephen Minister?  Are you interested in becoming a Stephen Minister?  Nate is currently collecting names of anyone who was or is interested as we look to re-establish this ministry at Grace.  Please email Nate at DCE@gracelutheranchurch.net, and let him know if you fall into either of these categories.  Thank you.
