Grace Lutheran Church Confirmation Curriculum Overview
|
Synopsis: Confirmation is a three-year course of study for students in grades 6 through 8. Classes are taught during the education hour on Sunday mornings, September through May. Additional teaching is offered on Sunday evenings (DiscipleYouth: Christian ethics) and on Youth Retreats (focus on the Catechism). All study texts are provided.
The goal of study is not memorization, but retention of content and integration both into one's understanding of Christian faith and into practice of the Christian life. Parents will receive unit tests to review with their youth. Satisfactory completion of these tests indicates basic comprehension of the treasures of Christian faith that are addressed in the six parts of the Small Catechism.
