Grace Youth

Sunday School

We want to prepare our youth to reap the benefits of a deeper faith as they grow into adulthood. Students in Grades 6 through 8 study Luther's Small Catechism.

Confirmation class is held in the Youth Resource Center on Sunday Mornings. Located on the lower level, the Youth Resource Center offers a variety of resources and activities for all youth. Children’s books are also housed in this room. In addition, it serves as a hang out room for the youth, holding games and a TV for fellowship and fun.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, classes are now held online.

Service Projects

The youth group allows young people to be actively involved in Christian service and ministry, even at a young age. From volunteering at food banks, to going on retreats to deepen their relationship with God, involvement in the work of the Church is an important step for those becoming adults in the Church.

The youth group is also a place where young people can connect with each other and make friends. They build a community with one another and through partnerships with youth groups at other churches. They also have mentors and examples in discipleship to look up to as volunteers as Grace give their time to partner with young people as they begin to live out an adult faith.

Youth have opportunities to join in one of several of the musical groups at Grace. These groups meet for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings as part of Breathe Activities

Mission Statement: We are called to Welcome Everyone to Walk the Way of GRACE, and walk in that way in our individual lives, in our shared life in our various communities, in our common life with our neighbors, and even to the world at large as God sends us. The Way of Grace is to: GROW with Jesus, REJOICE in God, ANSWER with hope, CARE for the neighbor, and EMBRACE community.

Vision Statement: God has a plan FOR OUR LIVES, and so we teach how to walk in the path of Jesus Christ; FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOODS, and so we work to build healthy and strong communities; FOR OUR CITY, and so we share life with our neighbors in Walltown, Trinity Park, Duke, and the Triangle; and FOR OUR WORLD, and so we go with Good News.

Core Values: Because God loves us first, we value worship rooted in Scripture and Sacraments, service to all people, and being a welcoming community that loves and forgives one another.
