Wednesdays at Grace

Music, fellowship, and discipleship contribute to a significant aspect of our life and community together at Grace Church. We love to rejoice in God through music. With several choirs and educational opportunities open for people to join, there is something for everyone.

Wednesday Schedule

Currently suspended due to COVID-19.

On Wednesday Evenings, family and friends of Grace come together to join in Breathe Activities. From enjoying a meal together, to joining in fellowship with one another, to taking a class, or singing in choir, Wednesday evenings offer the opportunity to take a breath. While most choirs meet on Wednesday nights, the Cherub Choir (4 years--grade 4) meets on Sunday mornings during Sunday School.

The following is a schedule of all current Breathe Activities:

  • Family-Friendly Meal // 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

  • Junior Choristers (Grades 2-6) // 5:45 PM – 6:15 PM

  • Praise and Play (Kids with their parents up to first grade) // 5:45 - 6:00 PM

  • Book Club (fourth Wednesday of each month) // 6:00 PM

  • Discipleship Class // 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM

  • Joyful Ringers (Intergenerational) // 6:30 PM – 7:15 PM

  • Grace Choir (Teens and Adults) // 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Please note that Joyful Ringers will not meet during Lent.

Book Club

Book Club meets the fourth Wednesday of every month. For Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent, they will meet at 6:00 PM instead of the regular 6:30 PM in the Bethlehem Resource Room at Grace.

Praise and Play

Join Michelle Boyle, the director of Miss Mollie's Preschool, as she leads Praise and Play with children (up to first grade) and their parents and/or caregivers. She presents a lesson in the Youth Resource Room and the play room is open to families afterwards.

Choirs

Joyful Ringers

Joyful Ringers is an intergenerational group that plays once a month at the 11:00 am service between September through May, excluding Advent and Lent. They rehearse in the choir loft. Only the ability to count musical notation is required to join.

Grace Choir: Teens and Adults

From September through May, the Grace Choir sings at one service each Sunday, alternating between the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services. They rehearse in the choir loft.

Junior Choristers: Grades 2-6

Junior Choristers sing once per month at the 11:00 am service. The children learn basic music reading skills, how to sing, and develop an understanding of the Lutheran liturgy.

Miss Mollie's Children

The children at Miss Mollie's School of Grace join with the Cherub Choir to sing in our 11:00 am service three times a year.

Mission Statement: We are called to Welcome Everyone to Walk the Way of GRACE, and walk in that way in our individual lives, in our shared life in our various communities, in our common life with our neighbors, and even to the world at large as God sends us. The Way of Grace is to: GROW with Jesus, REJOICE in God, ANSWER with hope, CARE for the neighbor, and EMBRACE community.

Vision Statement: God has a plan FOR OUR LIVES, and so we teach how to walk in the path of Jesus Christ; FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOODS, and so we work to build healthy and strong communities; FOR OUR CITY, and so we share life with our neighbors in Walltown, Trinity Park, Duke, and the Triangle; and FOR OUR WORLD, and so we go with Good News.

Core Values: Because God loves us first, we value worship rooted in Scripture and Sacraments, service to all people, and being a welcoming community that loves and forgives one another.
