Prayer Pointers:

That newness of life may work in you

To embrace all the children of God in love

Today’s text: 2 John 1-13

FOR ALL THE WORDS written about God, Jesus, the Church, the world, etc., John says that all of these hang on one fact: the Son of God has become the Son of Man; Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Without the Incarnation there is no reason to point to the life of Jesus, including his ministry and words, for otherwise the trajectory of his life is one of tragedy in an endless catalog of tragedies. To deny the importance of the Incarnation is to participate in the spirit of antichrist, who would first twist and finally undo what Christ has done: reconcile us to God and to one another.
