Text: Luke 10:25-28, 38-42
Prayer Pointers:
For freedom from distraction
For trust to love God and neighbor fully
For neighborhoods torn by strife

Oh, to be Mary! Able to sit at the Lord’s feet and do no more than listen! For most of us, it seems our fate is to be Martha, for there is always something, someone else that demands our attention, our efforts. Our world is one of distraction, and even when we are not held by our responsibilities, distractions in the form of entertainment press in.
“Do not be anxious or troubled.” Jesus suggests that our distractions come, at least in part, from the worries of our hearts, and that the antidote to worry and troubles is to draw closer to him. “Mary has chosen the good portion…”
Jesus calls us! In your mercy, Savior, make us hear your call;
Give us hearts to your obedience, serve and love you best of all.
Let us choose the good portion, and keep Mary company.
May your day be grace-filled ~ Pr. Dave Brooks
