Text: Mark 2:1-12
Prayer Pointers:
To cultivate the habit of regular confession
For joy in the Son of man

I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED about what the paralytic thought as this disagreement raged over him. Lying there upon his mat, he is being discussed and debated by others. His situation is not strange to us—we all participate in these debates, we will at some point in our lives be the subject of these debates. We all struggle with helplessness and the inability to accomplish what we wish.
Then Jesus tells him to get up and walk. The joy, the thrill that must flow through his heart!
And then…does he stop in his walking, his dance of joy? Which is harder, to release someone from their physical bonds or from the bondage that is separation, estrangement from God? What really makes him dance that day?
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved!
How precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.
May your day be grace-filled ~ Pr. Dave Brooks
