Prayer Pointers:

To rejoice in the Lord in all times and places

For those who work cooking and serving food

Today’s text: John 21:15-25

IN THIS EPILOGUE TO John’s Gospel, we see Jesus doing what he always does: create, unite and restore community; undo the foul effects of sin; give hope for the future.

In the breakfast he serves, the disciples are again united in the bonds of love.

In the word he speaks, Peter’s denial is undone by three affirmations of love.

In the unnamed disciple, Jesus assures us all that we abide in his love.

We are those on the lakeshore, perhaps estranged, perhaps ashamed, perhaps unsure, but the promise is also ours: Christ is risen for our salvation! Alleluia!

May your day be grace-filled ~ Pr. Dave Brooks
