Text: Matthew 25:1-13
Prayer Pointers:
For eyes to see and ears to hear the signs of the Lord’s approach
To not be weary or slumber

AS WE TURN TO ADVENT, with its promise of the approaching Redeemer, we are faced with a dilemma: all around us is dark, and it is not always easy to see the evidence of the Lord’s work among us. Do not grow weary! So many in our world experience suffering, whether their own or another’s, and take it as the sign that no one is coming, no one will redeem the time. Let our struggle turn us closer to God, and trust that his light will burn away all the darkness we experience.
Keep your lamps trimmed and burning,
keep your lamps trimmed and burning,
keep your lamps trimmed and burning,
for the time is drawing nigh.
Darker midnight lies before us,
darker midnight lies before us,
darker midnight lies before us,
for the time is drawing nigh.
Lo, the morning soon is breaking,
lo, the morning soon is breaking,
lo, the morning soon is breaking,
for the time is drawing nigh
Children, don't grow weary,
children, don't grow weary,
children, don't grow weary,
for the time is drawing nigh.
May your day be grace-filled ~ Pr. Dave Brooks
