Thursday, Fifth Week of Lent Feast of the Annunciation March 25, 2021

Prayer pointers:

That God would pour his grace on you

For the joy of God’s care and love

Today’s text: John 1:9-14

TODAY IS THE FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION, a particularly rich day because it combines the joy of two Godly facts: the fact of the Incarnation and the fact of God’s favor resting on lowly mortals. Mary, betrothed to Joseph, is in God’s eye, and Gabriel comes to her to say that she, lowly and unknown, is highly favored.

It is important that we remember the breathtaking fact of Jesus: the mighty God clothed in weak human flesh, the Lord of Creation born in the usual way, the King of the Universe found humble and obscure. In Christ, things human and things divine are married, intertwined, joined in glory.

May your day be grace-filled ~ Pr. Dave Brooks
